A girl - believed to be around 12 years old - was taken to hospital after a crash in Birchington this afternoon.

Police were called to Station Road at just before 2pm after a car reportedly hit the girl.

The road was closed while the youngster was taken to hospital, but it's now reopened.

Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
