A man spotted giving a "cold, struggling" person on the street the coat off his own back has been met with an outpouring of praise.
Vicky Chadwick, from Broadstairs, took to Facebook to share the heart-warming encounter she spotted in the town's high street yesterday.
"I’ve just witnessed an act of kindness that brought me to tears," she wrote. "Man on the high street talking to a guy who is clearly cold, hungry and struggling.
"Gets out of his van and takes off his coat, wraps it round him and helps him put it on.
"Whoever you are in the rust coloured van, thank you for your act of kindness."
The good Samaritan has since been named locally as 'Geoff', while Mrs Chadwick's post has received hundreds of likes and comments praising his quiet act of generosity.
"That is so beautiful," wrote one resident, while another said it "restores faith".
Speaking to KentOnline, Mrs Chadwick said: "It wasn’t just what he did, it was how...we all spend our lives masked up avoiding touching others and his actions were selfless."
