Ramsgate man Peter Curtis selected to appear in Vanarama national advertisement campaign

A painter, decorator and handyman has been selected to star in a national advertisement campaign.

Peter Curtis, from Ramsgate, is relishing his moment on the screen after being chosen for the new Vanarama advert.

Mr Curtis’ business, Call for Aid, provides a maintenance and emergency call service to the elderly across Thanet but he says he is more used to watching TV than appearing on it.

Ramsgate painter, decorator and general all-round handyman Peter Curtis has been to star in the new TV advert for vehicle leasing company Vanarama.
Ramsgate painter, decorator and general all-round handyman Peter Curtis has been to star in the new TV advert for vehicle leasing company Vanarama.

He said: “Vanarama wanted to keep it real by using actual customers, rather than specially selected actors.

“I was really happy to be chosen.

“It’s not so much about me being on TV, but rather a great opportunity to promote my business, as my van appears in the ad too.”

In the advert Mr Curtis tells viewers about his van-leasing experience.

The national campaign will hit our screens later this month.
