Margate squandered a first half lead to go down at Hastings in the Ryman League Premier Division on Saturday.
Lloyd Blackman scored from the penalty spot after 42 minutes after a Hastings defender handled Wayne Wilson’s shot in the area.
Gate had been the better side during the first half and had a lot of possession, but paid the price for conceding two goals after the break.
They lost possession midway in their own half and the ball was picked up by Ade Olorunda who ran 30 yards and scored as everyone backed away from him after 64 minutes.
The second Hastings goal came in similar fashion when Russell Eldridge burst through to score after 78 minutes.
