Whether aliens exist or not is a debate many of us have had at one time or another.
But one 11-year-old girl in Ramsgate was left stunned when she saw a bright green light in the sky over her home in Ramsgate - and her first conclusion was indeed aliens.
The "eerie" sky was captured by her mum Lucy Speller on Wednesday evening, at about 8.30pm.
"Myself and my daughter went to the back door and were stunned by the bright green sky," the 30-year-old said.
"It was like this for around an hour or two. My daughter and partner's first suggestion of colouring was of course aliens.
"I have no explanation or idea what it could be."
Lucy says she has "never seen anything like it" in the two-and-a-half years she has lived in Nixon Avenue.
"The fact it didn't stay made it even stranger," she added.
"I know the usual explanation would be store fronts, harbour lights etc - but it can't be that due to it not being a regular light.
"The pictures don't show exactly how green it was, as it was much brighter.
"It would be interesting to see other people's ideas and explanations."

It's not the first weird phenomenon to be spotted in the sky above Kent this week. On Tuesday ominous clouds passed over the east of the county.
