A person has been flown to William Harvey Hospital after a helicopter was sent to a medical emergency on a boat in Ramsgate this afernoon.

A coastguard helicopter and two lifeboats were spotted more than four miles off the shore at around 2pm.

Following a search by the helicopter, the person was located and taken to hospital.
