Broadstairs & St Peter's town council has completed the community asset purchase of Pierremont Hall and associated buildings as well as Retort House, the sports centre in Albion Street car park.
Refurbishments of the properties, which the town council say is "much-needed" will be phased over several years, providing facilities for both community and commercial organisations.
The aim is to safeguard them for the benefit of the town and its residents.
Mayor Cllr Peter Shaw said: "This is a challenging enterprise with a great deal of work to be done.
"However, this will also provide local work opportunities as we move forward with the project.
"On behalf of the Broadstairs & St Peter's town council, I would like to thank residents for their support and patience during this lengthy process and assure you that the council is determined to bring these building back into use for the benefit of all the residents in Broadstairs & St Peter's."
The town council is now requesting expressions of interest from businesses and community groups who would be interested in letting space or holding community group meetings in either Retort House or Pierrement Hall.
To register your interest for the opportunity email town.clerk@broadstairs.gov.uk
All expressions of interest must be made in writing before 5pm on Friday, May 4.
