Householder stabbed after fighting off burglars raiding his Ramsgate home

A man was stabbed in the face with a knife after disturbing four masked intruders in his own home.

The 51-year-old was woken by a noise at around 1.15am on Wednesday, August 21 at his Quantock Gardens, Ramsgate home.

As he went to the top of the stairs he was faced with a man.

The homeowner punched the intruder in the face but the burglar hit back, stabbing the man in the face with what is believed to have been a knife.

The three other intruders stayed at the bottom of the stairs - all were wearing masks and hooded tops.

They then all fled towards Margate Road.

DC Michael Freemansaid: ‘We are unsure what the motivation was for this assault following the break-in at the property.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who may have information that will lead to the arrest of the offenders."
