Firefighters rescued a horse that became stuck in a water-filled dyke.

Crews arrived at around 8.45am yesterday to find the large male horse trapped in water up to its stomach in Watchester Lane in Minster, near Ramsgate.

They used water rescue equipment and animal rescue equipment to lift the stallion.

He was then assessed by a vet and the RSPCA.

Crews left the scene by 12.15pm.
