Huge emergency response at Epple Bay in Birchington

Emergency services were called to a beach after concerns for a woman’s welfare.

Police, ambulances and the coastguard were seen near Epple Bay in Birchington-on-Sea at 9pm last night.

Concerns were raised for the woman, who was later taken into the care of doctors.

A police spokesman said: “Officers were called to Birchington shortly after 9pm on Monday July 3 following concern for a woman in the area.

“Emergency services attended and the woman was located and passed into the care of healthcare professionals.”

A ambulance service spokesman added: “Crews responded to reports of concerns for the welfare of a woman at approximately 11.45pm yesterday.

“Paramedics attended the scene and the woman was brought to safety before being taken to hospital.”
