A huge emergency service response was launched amid concerns over a woman’s welfare in the sea.
Multiple agencies were alerted to Ramsgate’s Western Undercliff this morning, where she was rescued and brought ashore.
Police, the fire service and paramedics were joined by the coastguard and RNLI during the rescue operation, which saw the woman passed into the care of healthcare professionals.
A police spokesman said: “Our officers assisted HM Coastguard, the RNLI and South East Coast Ambulance Service following a report of concern for a woman in the sea near Royal Harbour Approach, Ramsgate at 10.25am.”
It is understood she was taken to hospital.
The ambulance service has been contacted for more information.
