Hundreds of job applicants have been queuing outside Dreamland HQ as the search for staff gets under way.
The recruitment drive continues today as hopefuls bid to become kitchen porters, chefs, ride operators, customer services staff and park and retail assistants.
According to Dreamland spokesman Eliza Gregory, the first day yesterday was a big success.
She said: We expected a good turnout but this confirms how valuable Dreamland is for the area, it is paramount for us to put the best team together from the local community.
"Dreamland is creating opportunities, jobs and raising economic activity for the area.
“We have already seen a diverse group of people come through the doors. This is exactly what we’re after - local people from different walks of life to contribute to the community.”
Applicant Marion Davis, of Minnis Way in Margate, had a long wait in the cold as the queue stretched back to Funshine Amusements in Marine Terrace.
She said: “I need this job, customer service is my baby.
“There’s been a lot of people waiting in the cold for over an hour and still we’re in the outside queue, nobody has come out and said anything.
“I’m going to tell them how they can improve their customer service and that I’m the one to do it!”
Simon Boyd, 18, of Hartsdown Academy, said: “I’m looking for a part-time job along with sixth-form studies.
“It’s not easy to get a job but my friends are starting to get employed so I need to keep up.
“Anything that is going I would be happy to do.”
It was the second time a queue has formed outside Dreamland after the opening date was announced on Friday.
The second recruitment day runs until 7pm in Dreamland HQ at 50 Marine Terrace.
