A woman has been given a restraining order after threatening to burn someone's house down over a false rape claim.

Kelly Johnston, who admitted she smokes crack cocaine daily, was seen screaming and shouting outside a house in Clements Road, Ramsgate.

The 31-year-old, of The Cuttings, also threatened to return to the house with more people to bomb it.

She pleaded guilty to threatening to damage or destroy property at a hearing at Margate Magistrates' Court and was handed a community order and a curfew.

The court was told a number of emergency calls were made after Johnston said she was going to kick down the door of the house in Clements Road on the evening on Sunday, June 3.

Prosecutor Julie Farbrace said: "Johnston was heard shouting 'call the old bill, I'll be out in three months, I don't ******* care' and 'come out here you fat **** - if you don't, I'll come back with more people and bomb you.'

"Although the victim was upset about the words that were said, there was no physical violence or any attempts to enter her premises."

Defending Johnston, Natasha Spreadborough told of her "chaotic lifestyle".

She said: "It was very much in the heat of the moment.

"Johnston received news from a family member, who used to be the partner of the victim's boyfriend, suggesting he had intercourse with her when she was underage.

"She took that to heart.

"By the time she got to the police station, she was aware that the family member had told her a lie.

"This young lady leads a chaotic lifestyle, and gets extremely excited about something or nothing, which is indicative of the personality order she has been diagnosed with."

A probation officer told the court: "She lives with her aunt and drinks neat vodka and binge drinks where she has no limit, and smokes crack daily."

District Judge Barron put Johnston on a tagged curfew from 8pm to 6am daily for six weeks.

He said: "You made some nasty threats, but I accept these were in the heat of the moment and you did not carry them out."

Johnston was also given a two-year restraining order and fined £170.
