A large crowd is expected today to hear Labour leadership contender Jeremy Corbyn speak in Margate.

Mr Corbyn has held a series of rallies throughout the campaign, many of which have drawn several hundred supporters .

The left winger is currently the bookies’ favourite to win the contest to succeed Ed Miliband as leader.

Several hundred tickets have already been booked for the rally at Margate’s Winter Gardens which comes just one week before the contest is decided.

Mr Corbyn has emerged as a surprise front runner in the race and is clearly ahead in most polls.

The Islington MP visited South Thanet during the general election campaign.

He is one of four candidates: the others are Yvette Cooper; Andy Burnham and Liz Kendall.
