A kitten has died after being cruelly dumped in a black bin bag.

The cat was found in the tied up sack along with another kitten in Ellington Road in Ramsgate on Friday afternoon, when temperatures reached 27C.

Although one survived, the other died after being taken in by Cats in Crisis (CIC).

The animal charity has slammed the person responsible, branding them "wicked."

Adele Manhan, of CIC, said: "The weather is so hot at the moment and for these kittens to be dumped in a bag is just wicked.

"If anybody knows anything or has CCTV in the area we would love to hear from you."

The shocking discovery was made by Jade Roberts and two others.

"They were red hot and in a bad way," she said.

" I was shocked and disgusted that anybody would do such a thing.

"They didn’t stand a chance in this heat.

"There is absolutely no need for such mindless cruelty. It was heartbreaking to see.

"Two other member is the public were there before me and when I got there the man ripped the bag open and I got the kittens out and took them. A pitiful sight and very upsetting.

"As far as I'm concerned there is no excuse for such disgusting behaviour. No excuse whatsoever.

"There are charities and people out there that will help you if you have unwanted animals.

"Leaving them in a tied up bin bag on a boiling hot day is unforgivable."

But there was yet more devastation when several kittens were found in a garage.

A CIC spokesman said: "Sadly, we have not had a good weekend with kittens.

"We have also taken in some kittens that had been found in the grounds of a garage. Three had died.

"The remaining kittens are with one of our foster people and are being hand fed.

"All are holding their own and we are keeping our fingers crossed they will make a recovery."

The charity is reminding people of availability of neutering services to stop unwanted kittens being born.

A spokesman said: "Low cost neutering is available via a variety of charities.

"If you contact your local rescue even if they cannot help they will be able to point you in the right direction.

"There is so much help out there with neutering that there is no excuse at all for unwanted kittens to be born. No excuse at all."
