The 40-year-old was later charged with three assaults - including one involving a knife.
He is alleged to have assaulted a woman on February 13, before reportedly making a threat to kill her four days later.
On February 23 he is again alleged to have assaulted the same woman, before using a knife to cut her hand on Saturday.
Robinson, of Meridian Close, Ramsgate, had also been charged with dangerous driving prior to his arrest on Sunday.
Before he was taken into custody, an officer was injured as he tried to open the door of a car being pursued by police.
The vehicle was stationary in King Street when a patrol car rammed into it as part of a "tactical contact" manoeuvre, which shunted the car into the officer, knocking him to the ground.
He suffered a minor injury and did not need hospital treatment.
Robinson is due to appear before Folkestone magistrates today.
