An LGBT+ website was hacked into and littered with homophobic comments.
Margate Pride, an arts-led organisation which hosts events all over the seaside town, informed its followers of the security breach this morning.
In a post on Facebook it said: "Our website has been hacked by homophobic hackers - we’ll get this fixed and be back soon."
The group claiming responsibility for the attack is believed to be the UMCA, a homophobic religious extremist network accused of spreading fake news and hate speech.
Neighbouring LGBT organisations and allies posted on social media to share their support.
Pride Canterbury wrote: "This is awful to hear and and we hope you are able to get it resolved quickly.
"If there's anything we can do to help, please don't hesitate to reach out. With love, Pride Canterbury."
Margate Pride CIC aims to celebrate all aspects of LGBT+ life and provide a platform to champion equality and challenge prejudice.
It provides a summer programme of cultural, educational and social events in the town, followed by a pride parade and rally.
