The Libertines frontman Pete Doherty has shown his talents stretch beyond the world of music and poetry after smashing a mega food challenge.
The singer, who moved to Margate with his bandmates to set up the Albion Rooms studio and hotel on the town's Eastern Esplanade, wolfed down the mega breakfast at the Dalby Cafe in Cliftonville this morning.
Dalby Cafe manager Alan Wood said he smashed the challenge in 19 and a half minutes - under the 20 minute limit.
In a Margate version of Man V Food, the Time for Heroes singer scoffed four eggs, four bacon, four sausages, chips, hash browns, onion rings, bubble, beans, mushrooms, two slices of toast and tea.
Mr Wood says the mega challenge had not been completed successfully since 2014.
"Plenty of other people come in and try it but fail. Pete just came in and ordered it, he finished it in under 20 minutes," he said.
But the former Babyshambles singer didn't even feel queasy afterwards.
"Afterwards he just sat there and had a fag whilst watching the world go by," he explained.
The Dalby Cafe is a favourite with locals is owned by Mark Ezekiel whose family have had the business for 70 years.
It has been managed by Mr Wood for four years.
The Libertines are headlining the final day of the Wheels and Fins festival at Joss Bay near Broadstairs on September 9 for what is going to be their final live gig for "the foreseeable future".
