Love Island star and former Margate FC footballer Mike Thalassitis has died at the age of 26.
The striker, who was dubbed 'Muggy Mike' by fellow contestants on the show, passed away near his home in Essex earlier today.
His managers have confirmed his body was found in woodland.
Met Police has since confirmed he was found hanged.
Fans and former team mates have been taking to social media to pay tribute.
He had enjoyed a successful sporting career before appearing on the reality show in 2017 and also had spells at Ebbsfleet and Welling.
Steven Watt, who was Mike's manager when he played for Margate, tweeted "Absolutely gutted, RIP mate."
Welling United have also posted on twitter: "RIP Michael Thalassitis. He only made a handful of appearances for the club. However all of us at Welling United are saddened to learn of Michael’s passing. Our thoughts are with his family and friends."
Former Ebbsfleet player Jordan Parkes posted "Completely shocked to hear the news about Thala. my thoughts are with his family."
It emerged when Mike was on the programme that he had not told the Margate boss that he was jetting off to Majorca.
He was originally kicked off the show after getting involved in a love triangle but a public vote saw him return to the villa.
