A 23-year-old driver who died after crashing into a bus during a police chase has been named in tributes as Taylor Perkins.
Officers were pursuing a dark-coloured Audi TT at 11.25am yesterday morning after it failed to stop in Shottendane Road, Margate.
Five minutes later the car crashed into a bus on Spitfire Way, Manston.
The driver suffered fatal injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene.
He has since been named in tributes as Taylor Perkins, with people paying respects on social media.
Mark Young said: "RIP Taylor Perkins. Far too young to be snatched from this world."
Ben Gale added: "RIP Taylor Perkins such sad news! A good lad! Knew ya from young. Love to all his friends and family."
Sophie Cooper posted: "RIP my Taylor Perkins... love you so much, you will be missed."
According to Mr Perkins' Facebook page, he attended King Ethelbert School in Birchington.
It is not known how many people were on board the bus at the time of the collision, or if anyone else was injured.
As is standard procedure, the matter will be referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
The police vehicle did not make contact with either the car or the bus.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the vehicles on the road prior to the collision taking place.
