Police were spotted along a Kent route amid an investigation into alleged "modern slavery".

Officers were spotted by locals in Ramsgate Road, Broadstairs, yesterday afternoon.

And today a spokesman for the force confirmed a man was arrested as part of their probe.

The police official told KentOnline: "We attended Ramsgate Road, Broadstairs, yesterday as part of an investigation into alleged modern slavery.

"A man has been arrested and released on bail while enquiries continue."

A witness wrote on Facebook that he had seen two police cars along the road at about 1pm.
