A man who burgled a neighbour twice in two months has been jailed.
Andrew Manderson, of Ethelbert Terrace in Margate, broke into a property in his road on August 16, stealing mobile phones, computers and cash.
But he left behind a glove, and tests carried out by police confirmed it contained his DNA.
Following the burglary, the victim installed CCTV, and while on holiday on October 8 received an alert on his phone saying the camera had been activated.
The camera captured the image of a man stealing a mixing desk.
Police identified the person in the photo as 48-year-old Manderson, and he was arrested.
Officers found the stolen mixing desk among items at Manderson’s home.
He admitted the two burglaries and was sentenced to three years in prison at Canterbury Crown Court last Monday.
Investigating officer Det Con Allison Bridges said: "To target the same property twice shows a complete lack of consideration for the victim and the upset that would have been caused.
"Fortunately, the victim’s decision to install CCTV paid off and Andrew Manderson is now off the streets and unable to steal any more."
