Police have charged a man following an investigation into a sexual assault in Ramsgate.

Ashraf Miah, 33, of no fixed address, has been remanded in custody and is facing one count of rape and one of assault.

The attack reportedly happened near Sion Hill in the early hours of Friday, September 30 and involved an 18-year-old woman.

He is due to appear at Canterbury Magistrates' Court later today.
