A man's due in court later today after the body of another man was found at a house in Margate.

Aurimas Vilius, 24, of Cornwall Gardens, Margate, has been charged with the murder of 38-year-old Edvardas Barscevicius.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court.

Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have also charged Vilius with assault on another man, also from Margate, in connection with the incident.

These charges relate to the discovery of the body in Ethelbert Terrace, Margate, on Monday.

It is believed that both victims and the suspect are known to one another and enquiries into the death are ongoing.

A 35-year-old man who was also arrested in connection with the incident has been released pending further enquiries.

A third man, aged 54, was released without charge.
