A man who was electrocuted when he fell onto a railway line is in a serious condition.

The incident happened at Ramsgate station yesterday at about 5.40pm.

There was a huge emergency response in the area and train services were cancelled or diverted .

Ambulance crews, including the Hazardous Area Response Team, and police attended the scene.

A man in his 20s was treated before being taken to hospital in an air ambulance in a serious condition.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "The incident is not being treated as suspicious."
