A man has been found dead in a street in Margate.

The body was discovered on a pavement near Victoria Road at around 10pm last night.

Police confirmed the death is being treated as unexplained.

A spokesman added: "Kent Police was called at 10pm on Thursday, February 1, to a report of a man laying on the pavement near Victoria Road, Margate.

"Officers attended along with SECAmb and the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing."
