A driver has been taken to hospital this evening following a crash that left a car on its roof.

The accident, involving one car, happened on the A253 near the Monkton roundabout at 7.20pm.

The driver was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to a local hospital.

His injuries are not thought to be serious.

Police and a fire engine were called.
