A biker has been hurt in a crash in the centre of Margate this evening.

A motorbike collided with a car on Marine Terrace just after 5pm.

Police and two ambulances were called to the scene.

The biker's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening but drivers reported the centre of Margate was gridlocked following the accident.

The road was closed between Arlington House and The Clock Tower, causing major delays in the town.

It was reopened just after 6pm.
