One man was treated by paramedics after a fire in a flat.
Emergency services were called to Sandhurst Place in Margate at around 6.30pm.
Four fire engines were sent to the scene and crews used a smoke screen to stop the blaze from spreading.
One man was treated for smoke inhalation and passed on to paramedics.
Crews were stood down at 7.50pm.
A spokesman for Kent Police confirmed officers were assisting the fire service.
The cause is yet to be established.
An air ambulance landed in Margate Winter Gardens but it has not yet been confirmed if this is for the same incident.
