A man who sold stolen passports to undercover police and took officers to buy class A drugs has been jailed.

Voljtech Hricko, of Edgar Road, Cliftonville, was arrested after he used a shop, set up by police in Margate, to sell stolen goods for more than six months.

Police say the 25-year-old brazenly sold on jewellery, watches, bank cards, passports, perfume, games consoles and televisions between November 14, 2014 and June 9, 2015.

He even sold a laptop which had been stolen from a university and when switched on, flashed up with a message to return to the student’s union if found.

On June 9, 2015, shortly after selling jewellery in the shop, he arranged and took an undercover police officer to score class A drugs.

Senior investigating officer DI Lopa McDermott said: "Hricko is the latest criminal to be sentenced after he mistakenly believed he could benefit from selling items that weren’t his to sell.

"He knew those items already had rightful owners and yet he showed no hesitation in turning other people’s property into his financial gain.

"If you are offered an item for sale and you suspect it might be stolen, contact Kent Police on 101."

Hricko admitted to all of the offences on Monday of this week.

He was sentenced to a total of 42 months in prison at Canterbury Crown Court on Tuesday, June 7.

The judge handed him 20 months behind bars for supplying class A drugs and 22 months for transferring criminal property on a number of occasions.
