A 20-year-old pedestrian is serious but stable in a London hospital after a suspected hit and run crash.

Police were called to Westwood Road in Broadstairs shortly after 6.30pm yesterday.

The man was seriously injured after the crash with a dark-coloured car that is believed to have left the scene.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the car or driver is urged to call the police appeal line on 01843 222289 quoting reference 20-1095.

Officers also want to hear from any local garages that have had a dark-coloured car in for repairs with front-end damage.
