Man stabbed in Margate town centre airlifted to hospital in serious condition

A man has been stabbed in a town centre and airlifted to a London hospital in a serious condition.

Police were called to Cowper Road in Margate shortly after 6.30pm on Friday 13 December following a report that a man had been assaulted.

Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and a man was taken to a London hospital.

He remains in a serious condition after injuries consistent with stab wounds were reported, police say.

A 32-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman were arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody while enquiries continue.

An investigation is ongoing and police are urging anyone with relevant information, including CCTV, to contact them on 01843 222289 quoting 13-1142.
