A man was taken to hospital after he was stabbed near a popular shopping centre.

Police are appealing for information after the victim was attacked in Gordon Road, near Westwood Cross, in Broadstairs between 7.50am and 8am on Friday, September 2.

Police say the suspect is white, in his 20s, around 5ft 6ins, slim, with wavy light brown hair and facial hair.

He is said to have been wearing a dark blue tracksuit top with a yellow stripe down the right shoulder and blue trousers as he left the scene in the direction of Ramsgate Road.

A spokesman for the force said: "The victim sustained injuries consistent with a stab wound which required hospital treatment.

"The incident was later reported to us.

"Officers have since been carrying out enquiries and are appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area, or who has any other information which may assist the investigation."
