Manhunt launched for man in snood after girl grabbed on Cinder Footpath off Broadstairs High Street and station

A manhunt has been launched for a snood-wearing stranger who reportedly grabbed a teenage girl in an alleyway.

Officers are investigating the incident in Cinder Footpath near Crampton’s Sports Bar and Broadstairs station.

The force says a 15-year-old girl was approached on Friday at about 10.40am by a man unknown to her on the path just off the high street.

“The man attempted to engage the teenager in conversation and grabbed her arm before she left the area on foot,” a police spokesperson said.

“Officers attended and carried out inquiries.

“The man was described as white and about 5ft 8 tall, aged between 50 and 60, wearing black clothing and a snood.”

Inquiries are ongoing and officers are urging anyone with relevant information, including doorbell footage or CCTV, to contact police on 01843 222289 quoting 13-0465.
