Lloyd Blackman scored a stoppage time winner to give Margate a 2-1 victory over Kingstonian in the Ryman League Premier Division at Hartsdown Park on Saturday.
Gate paraded five new faces in their starting line-up and it was one of them who gave the home side an early lead.
Joe Healy’s free-kick was pushed out for a corner by Kingstonian keeper Luke Garrard and when the ball was swung back in Akwasi Edusei scored at the near post.
Their lead only last two minutes, though, when a poor defensive header fell to Matt Gray and hit the ball on the half-volley past debutant keeper Lloyd Anderson.
Wayne Wilson missed a good chance to put Gate in front with 10 minutes left before Kingstonian defender Simon Huckle headed the ball back to Garrard who could not hold it and Blackman (pictured) followed in to score.
