A bag containing medication has been snatched from a woman.

The thief had at first grabbed her and demanded money, then taken the bag and run away.

It happened at Westbrook Avenue, Margate, shortly after midnight this morning.

The victim, a woman in her 20s, was walking along Westbrook Avenue when she noticed a man walking behind her.

She stopped to let him go past it is reported he grabbed her and asked for money.

The suspect then pulled the bag off her shoulder and ran away in the direction of Canterbury Road.

The victim did not report any serious injuries.

The bag also had keys and a purse.

Inquiries remain ongoing and officers are reviewing the CCTV footage.
