The last television series Love Island star Mike Thalassitis appeared in before his death will not be aired, it has been revealed.
The 26-year-old, who tragically died near his home in Essex over the weekend, was set to appear in MTV's Ex on the Beach this year.
However, the channel's bosses have decided to shelve the programme out of respect for his family.
An MTV spokesman said: "We were very sad to hear the tragic news about Mike Thalassitis and our thoughts are with his family and friends.
"Last year, Mike took part in filming for the next series of Ex on the Beach, which was due to air on MTV later in the year.
"In light of the news of Mike’s death, we have decided not to broadcast the planned 10th season of the show."
The reality star, who was dubbed "Muggy Mike" during his stint on Love Island, had enjoyed a successful sporting career playing for the likes of Margate FC, Ebbsfleet and Welling.
His former manager Steve Brown spoke to KentOnline this week about Mike who he described as a "smashing lad".
Today, Love Island bosses confirmed contestants will get more support once they leave the show after Mike's co-stars launched a petition in the wake of his death.
