A mum and her young son were followed by a man before he made “aggressive comments” towards her.

Police are investigating the incident after they received a call from a woman who had been pushing a pram along Chapel Lane in Ramsgate this morning.

Officers arrested a man, who they discovered was wanted on a recall to prison.

A spokesman for the force said: “We were called at 9.24am today by a woman who reported that a man had followed her along Chapel Lane in Ramsgate and made aggressive comments towards her.

“The woman said the incident had taken place about 20 minutes before she called and confirmed that she was then in a safe place.

“Officers carried out immediate enquiries in the area and reviewed CCTV.

“A man matching the description she provided was identified and officers discovered the man was wanted on a recall to prison.

“He was located in George Street just before 11am and arrested.”

Inquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
