Monkton Nature Reserve marks its 25th anniversary on Saturday, August 9, and is inviting current and former members to visit its site at the former chalkpit to see how it has developed over the years.
In the early days, members worked hard to plant 1,000 trees and shrubs and these now form a woodland to be proud of and the Thanet Countryside Trust, which administers the reserve, would particularly welcome those who were involved at the time.
People intending to join the event should bring a picnic and there will also be a barbecue. Afterwards there will be a walk around the reserve, highlighting how things have changed in the past quarter century.
