There now a chance to nominate sporting heroes and heroines for this year’s Thanet Sports Awards.
This is the fifth year the awards have been held, showcasing local sporting talent and achievement across all ages and abilities and across the full range of sports.
This year’s event takes place at Margate’s Winter Gardens on Friday, November 22.
The awards are organised by Thanet District Council’s Sports Matters team, working in partnership with the Thanet Sports Network – a group comprising public, private and voluntary sector organisations which develop local sport.
They will celebrate not just high-level achievement, but also extraordinary enthusiasm and dedication.
Family, friends, coaches, teachers and sport professionals are invited to nominate individuals and teams in the following categories:
Club of the Year.
Coach of the Year.
Disabled Sportsperson of the Year.
Long Service.
Sportsman of the Year.
Sportswoman of the Year.
Team of the Year.
Unsung Hero.
Young Sportsperson of the Year.
Young Team of the Year.
Primary Sports School of the Year Award.
Secondary Sports School of the Year Award.
Sports Teacher of the Year Award.
Nominees must be residents of Thanet or members of Thanet-based clubs and schools and online nominations can be made at www.thanet.gov.uk/sportsawards
