Children in school uniform have been thrown off a train after covering a one-year-old baby and other passengers in flour.

The students were on the 16.05pm service from Ramsgate to London Victoria when the incident occurred.

A Southeastern train conductor approached the group to ask them to stop but was met with a tirade of abuse from the pupils involved.

Seats were damaged during the confrontation on Friday, April 15, which included a headrest being removed.

Southeastern spokesman Benjamin Ward said: "Having spoken to the conductor involved, we know that a flour fight involving a number of school pupils took place on this train.

"This resulted in other passengers getting covered in flour, including a one-year-old baby.

"The headrest from one of our seats was also damaged and removed.

“When the conductor asked the pupils about the incident she was verbally abused and sworn at by all pupils present.

"As a result of this, the mess and damage caused and the fact that other passengers - including a small child - were affected, the conductor took the decision to ask the pupils to leave the train at Margate where station staff were present.

"We will be writing to the school that these pupils attend and will be asking them to deal with this behaviour."
