Following the success of last year's open day at the Theatre Royal in Margate, an even bigger event is planned for this spring on Sunday March 9.
From 10am – 4pm both the Theatre Royal and the Winter Gardens will be open to the public, with a chance to explore all the areas not usually seen by the public.
There are backstage tours, activities, talks and exhibitions as well as free refreshments and lots of prizes. Entry is free all day, and there’s a free shuttle bus between the venues.
A spokesman for Margate theatres said: “We’re inviting children and young people to have a go on the stage at the Theatre Royal, to stand on it and recite a poem or short speech of their choice.
“It’s the best view of the theatre from the stage, and we want you to have a chance to enjoy that and see how amazing it feels to speak out loudly to an audience.
“There will be a drama leader to look after you, and giveaways for everyone that has a go.
To take part, just turn up on the day.”
