Jordan Best, 35 and Faye Butterfield, 38, from Westgate in court accused of Co-op shoplifting spree

A man and woman have together been charged with more than 20 shoplifting offences from the same store.

The pair are said to have targeted the Co-op in Westgate-on-Sea on numerous occasions, taking alcohol and groceries worth more than £300.

Jordan Best, 35, and Faye Butterfield, 38, both of Station Road, Westgate, have now each been charged with 10 offences of theft, committed between November 16 and December 10.

Best is additionally charged with an extra count of shoplifting, said to have taken place from the same shop on December 9.

Butterfield is also charged with assaulting an emergency services worker, which relates to an allegation she kicked a police constable in the leg while being detained.

Both suspects were remanded in custody and were due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today.
