A man has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge after the discovery of a body at a house in Ramsgate.

Paul Prendergast, of Margate Road, Ramsgate, is alleged to have killed 34-year-old Cathal Hughes between August 14 and 17.

Mr Hughes, of Mayers Road, Deal, was found with his throat cut in the first-floor bedroom of the house in Margate Road.

Prendergast, 44, was remanded in custody on Wednesday and will stand trial at Maidstone Crown Court on April 19 next year.
