A person was given oxygen following a fire at a flat in Ramsgate.
Crews were called to La Belle Alliance Square at just after 7pm last night (Friday).
The blaze is thought to have started after a pan of oil overheated and caught alight.
Three fire engines were sent to the property and cleared the home of smoke after putting out the flames.
One person was treated as a precaution after breathing in smoke.
Crews are using the fire as a reminder to people not to get distracted while cooking or to leave it unattended.
They also say it is much safer not to use chip pans or deep fat fryers, especially those without a thermostat.
