Plans are brewing in Minster for a Costa drive-thru near the former Manston Airport site.
The coffee chain is hoping to cream off the profits at a new cafe along the Thanet Way.
It says it will blend in with the surrounding businesses, which include a McDonald's restaurant and Co-op store on land opposite at Minster services.
Images of the cafe form part of an official application submitted on behalf of Costa by developer Decimus Property Ltd.
It describes the proposal as a "vibrant roadside service development" with a "high-quality building to complement the local area".
Decimus claims a "majority of visitors" support the proposals, but a public consultation - due to end on March 19 - has so far attracted just one comment.
Neighbour Julian Williams has called on planners to switch the layout of the drive-thru section, fearing he will be disturbed by the sound of customers placing orders.
"It will be in operation from 5am to 11pm and would be approximately three metres from my garden," he wrote.
"In the summer I can clearly hear the McDonald's speaker which is the other side of the road. The Costa one would be far too close and would make my garden unusable.
"I request that the drive-thru area is redesigned so that the speaker system is the other side of the site next to the road."
Decimus says the cafe would be 41 metres from the nearest building.
"Along with the landscape bund and height of the proposed building means there will be no adverse effect of the building to residential properties," it claims.
The application will be decided by Thanet District Council planning officers or the authority's planning committee.
