Police and fire crews were called after a driver smashed into a parked car and fled the scene.

The collision happened in Friends Avenue, Margate, at about 7pm yesterday.

No injuries were reported, and the road was closed while emergency responders attended.

A police spokeswoman said: “We were alerted to a collision at around 7pm yesterday at Friends Avenue, Margate.

“Two vehicles were involved, a moving vehicle and a parked one.

“The driver was not present at the scene when officers arrived.

“Enquiries are ongoing to locate them.

“There were no reported injuries at the scene.

“Kent Fire and Rescue Service also attended.”
