A police chase ended in a crash in the early hours of this morning, destroying a wall and spraying debris across a road.

At about 2.50am officers signalled for a car to stop in Eastern Esplanade, Margate.

The driver failed to stop and police then chased the car for five miles to Spitfire Way in Manston.

The police car then collided with a wall, and one witness said it had smashed through three front gardens.

No injuries have been reported and police recovered the car.

The road was reopened early this afternoon.
