Police went to the flat of a man in Westgate-on-Sea flat and discovered a stash of “frightening” weapons, including 54 knuckle dusters and 16 tasers capable of hitting someone with 80,000 volts.
Drug dealer Simon Abbott, 22, had earlier turned up at the home of an ex-partner in November last year threatening to hurl acid at her and her family.
The victim’s mother was so frightened she called police – after Abbott smashed up his ex’s garden property.
Canterbury Crown Court heard officers raided Abbott’s home in Ethelbert Road expecting to find acid and a container.
But Judge Rupert Lowe heard that what they found were tasers, cartridges, knuckle dusters, flick knives, a baseball bat CS spray, cannabis and books on how to grow and deal illegal substances.
Now Abbott has been jailed for five years and nine months after he admitted possessing and supplying cannabis, possessing disguised firearms, importing prohibited weapons and goods, damaging property and an offence under the Communication Act.
He pleaded guilty to the seven charges and claimed he had bought the knuckledusters and tasers from an American site Internet site intending to sell them.
Prosecutor Mary Jacobson said Abbot’s former partner had received several text and phone threats before he attacked the garden furniture.
She said the victim’s mother had called police to report he was in the garden threatening to throw acid over them.
Judge Lowe told him: “You are as man with 28 previous convictions and you have started dealing drugs for money.
“You then decided to buy and import a large number of unpleasant, offensive and prohibited weapons, including finger knives designed to slash people in fights.
“The flat you lived in was awash with weapons...a very frightening array of weapons.”
