A police helicopter has assisted in a search following concerns for the welfare of a person.

Police were called just before 6.45pm yesterday evening to the Northwood Road area of Broadstairs.

Officers attended and with the help of the helicopter located the person nearby.

They were taken to a local hospital to receive treatment.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "We were called at just before 6.45pm on Friday to the Northwood Road area of Broadstairs following concerns for the welfare of a person.

"Officers attended and with the assistance of the police helicopter located the person nearby who was taken to a local hospital to receive treatment."
